Tbilisi, 21 August: [Muslim] Georgians from Fereydan [in Iran's Esfahan Province], [who were exiled to this area of Iran by Shah Abbas I of the Safavi dynasty in the 17th century], have said that they are ready to protect "the nest of their forefathers". Kavkas-Press received a letter from residents of Fereydan, which says that "although we, Georgians of Fereydan, live far from our homeland, we have never forgotten it and we are ready to protect the nest of our forefathers together with you".
"We are worried that Georgia is now being besieged by enemies. Of course, Georgia will survive one more trouble like this and will return to peace. It is God who protects Georgia, not technologies. Let God save Georgia," the open letter by residents of Fereydan says.
