BAGHDAD, Aug. 17 (VOI) - The Iraqi booth at the Damascus International Fair held in the Syrian capital was inaugurated as part of the activities of its 55th session, the Iraqi Ministry of Trade said on Sunday.
"Iraqi traders, businessmen and industry players participated in the Iraqi booth, where different Iraqi products and craft work have been displayed," according to a ministerial statement received by Aswat al-Iraq- Voices of Iraq- (VOI), quoting the general director of the Public Company for Iraqi Fairs, Sabty Jum'a Hassan, who led the Iraqi delegation to the fair.
Damascus International Fair is an annual fair that has been held in the Syrian capital for over 55 years and is considered as one of the oldest of its kind in the Middle East. Representatives from dozens of world countries participate in the fair, in addition to thousands of Syrian and international companies.
The fair's activities include a theatrical festival, where troupes from all over the world present different performances.
Commenting on the participation of the Iraqi private sector, Hassan said that the participation of private companies in the Iraqi booth was 100 percent.
"Most prominently is Ayk Ltd., which displayed different domestic goods and products that were manufactured to high quality standards," Hassan noted.
"The mixed sector played a major role with its participation with national products at Damascus International Fair," Hassan added.
